and restarted legion go and relaunched game and it worked. so what I ended up doing is opening up the AMD software adrenaline edition and factory resetting the user settings and profiles to defaults. I was tinkering with it ever since it's been crashing after the update trying to figure out a fix and finally did something that seems to have done the trick at least for now. before update on COD was running perfectly. but I was having the exact problem since COD HQ updated. graphics drivers are out of date from Sep but no official drivers have been pushed out yet. So I'm playing on a Lenovo Legion Go portable. just got home from work and tried to play again and was able to load and playing.
